Synopsis:
A fun 'canard' style flyer with smooth flight characteristics

Instructions

1. Start with a square sheet. Fold the paper exactly in half. Unfold after the crease has been made.

2. Fold the upper left and right points down so they hit the horizontal center line crease. When folded correctly, the top edge of the paper should line up with the center line crease. Unfold after the crease has been made.

3. Rotate the paper around so the creases are at the bottom.

4. Fold the upper left and right points down so they hit the horizontal center line crease. When folded correctly, the top edge of the paper should line up with the center line crease. Unfold after the crease has been made.

5. Rotate the paper around so all of the creases are vertical.

6. Fold the paper left corner down so the upper left point hits the left-most vertical crease. When folded correctly, the right point of the new crease should hit the center vertical crease at the top edge of the paper.

7. Fold the upper right corner down so the upper right point hits the right-most vertical crease. When folded correctly, the left point of the new crease should hit the center vertical crease at the top edge of the paper.

8. Fold the vertical standing part so that it creates a new point at the front of the paper

9. Fold the tip of the plane back over on to itself.

10. Flip the plane over so that the latest folds are on the bottom.

11. Fold the plane in half evenly along the center line.

Note: These next steps are difficult. Be sure to consult the video above for a more detailed look.

12. Fold the winglet back over itself as shown. Unfold it again.

13. Open the paper up where you just made the new fold. Carefully fold the winglet back again as shown.

14. Fold the newly formed winglet in half as shown.

15. Repeat 12, 13 and 14 for the opposite winglet. Be carefully that they are evenly matched.

16. Fold the first wing along the length of the wing.

17. Flip the plane over and fold the opposite wing making sure that both wings are even.

18. Open up the wing flaps and adjust the wing angles so they are even. Set the dihedral angle to be slightly up. Open the wing tip flaps and adjust them so they are slightly off vertical towards the outside of the wings.

THE THROW Launch with a moderate to hard level throw. This craft can also be launched almost straight up with a rather hard throw. Adjust the forward winglets to create acrobatic flights.
